Laundry Love

Cadiz UMC is ministering with other local churches in Trigg County to offer free laundry service once a month to those in need. The last Tuesday of each month, anyone can go to the laundromat on Main Street in Cadiz from 5-7 pm and get up to 6 loads of laundry paid for. This service includes provision of laundry detergent and dryer sheets, as well as snacks while they wait for their laundry to be done.

Grace Place

In conjunction with the Laundry Love ministry on the last Tuesday of each month a meal is provided for anyone in need at the Laundromat on Main Street in Cadiz. The Cadiz UMC church bus will be onsite with food to go for anyone who would like a free meal. The meals are available from 5 -7 pm each month.

Little Flock

The Cadiz UMC has a Fresh Expression of church at the Lake Barkley Plantation called Little Flock. The Plantation is an assisted living facility for people who are retired and need some assistance but still able to live independent lives. Each Sunday morning at 10 am worship service is led by Howard Coffey for the residents. Everyone is invited to attend, even if they are not residents. Each Wednesday afternoon, a devotion is offered for the residents as well. Once a month, the V-Team leads singing at the Plantation for the residents on Tuesday morning. Little Flock is an extension of the ministry of the Cadiz UMC.

The Way

The Cadiz UMC, along with the community and many other churches, support the ministries of The Way. One Friday a month, volunteers from the Cadiz UMC go to The Way to provide food for the youth. The Way is a ministry dedicated to the youth of Trigg County and is located behind the Trigg County school complex. The Way is open to youth after school throughout the week as a safe place to gather and features all sorts of activities and services.

Pre-Prom Dinner

Each year on the day of the Trigg County High School Prom, the Cadiz UMC offers a Pre-Prom Dinner for the students attending the prom. Any Trigg County student attending the prom is welcome to come and enjoy a wonderful meal and a very elegant environment. The cost is $5 per person, which covers the meal and a professional photograph. Any student interested in attending can sign-up at the church or contact the church office.

Prayer Shawl

A group of ladies gather monthly to provide prayer shawls for anyone in need. The prayer shawls are prayed over as they are made and available to anyone who would like to receive one. They are a reminder of the love and grace of God for those struggling with illness or other physical, spiritual, or emotional issues. Anyone who would like to receive a prayer shawl or who knows of one who would like one can contact the church office.

V-Team

The V Team is a group of people who go to the various nursing homes and assisted living facilities once a week and lead them in singing. This ministry is open to anyone who would like to share some joy and love to those in the community living in these facilities. They meet on Tuesday mornings and go to various locations. Anyone wishing to be a part of this ministry can contact the church office.

Wednesday Meals

Every Wednesday at 5:30 pm, a free meal is offered to anyone who would like to come to the church to eat. The meals are provided on a donation basis and available from 5:30-6 pm. Each Wednesday, meals are also taken to people in the community who may need a meal as well. The Cadiz UMC currently provides approximately 60 meals to shut-ins each week through the efforts of Danny Dickerson and the kitchen volunteers. For more information, contact the church office.

International

Each June the church sponsors a mission team to the country of Honduras. The trip involves teaching a Bible school and home construction. We also sponsor a medical clinic year round.
